Sand plains, forests and endless walking routes: the Loon and Drunen Dunes are also known as the ‘Brabant Sahara’. It is the perfect spot for walking with your dog. On the outskirts of this exceptional national park, you will find De Roestelberg, a welcoming and hospitable family business where dogs are more than welcome. A bowl of water will be waiting, and dog biscuits are available inside. Five dogs are allowed per group, as long as they don’t cause a nuisance to other guests.
There are plenty of tasty treats for dog owners too. There’s a wide selection of beers, traditional pancakes and delicious bar snacks.

2. Brouwcafé Kareltje - Vestingstad Heusden
After a walk over the fortress walls and along the harbour in Heusden, there is no better place to take a break than Brouwcafé Kareltje. The café was named after the owner’s faithful four-legged friend, so it won’t surprise you that dogs are more than welcome here. In fact, they have even compiled a special dog menu for your furry friend!
Sample one of the self-brewed beers, Dutch jenevers or homemade liqueurs and enjoy a relaxing break during your day in Heusden.
3. Restaurant Speijck - Oisterwijk
Restaurant Speijck is on the edge of the Oisterwijk Forests and a charming spot for both people and their pets. Dogs are warmly welcome here, both on the large terrace and inside the lovely restaurant. You will find this charming grand café right on the edge of the Mastbos in Breda. It’s the perfect place to sit down and relax after a walk in the forest.

5. IJM Strandhuys - Vught
Want to walk through the countryside, sunbathe by the water and then relax on a lovely terrace with your dog? You can do it all at IJM Strandhuys beach bar at the IJzeren Man Treetop Adventure Park in Vught. This unique spot is in the heart of natural green surroundings and ideal for a wonderful day out together.
Your dog is also welcome on the paved terrace, provided they are kept on a lead. During the winter season, from 3 October to 31 March, you can take your dog to Strandbad (beach and lake)! During a walk around the IJzeren Man, your dog can go swimming outside the park. Dogs are not allowed to swim at Strandbad.
