Inge
When I was 19, I swapped my Limburg roots for student life in Breda – the city where I still enjoy living! You could say that North Brabant has stolen my heart. If I’m not working, you can find me dancing at a festival, drinking coffee in a trendy venue or looking for beautiful and new places in the cities of Brabant.
After having lived in Breda for almost eight years, you could call me a Breda expert! As a writer for visitbrabant.com, I really enjoy sharing the most fun events, hotspots and places to eat in Breda (and the other Brabant cities) with you!

My tips for your visit to North Brabant
My ideal city break in Breda: - Historic heritage & creative hotspots
Day 1:
- Start your city break with an amazing (oatmeal) cappuccino at KAMU on Bosschstraat. A creative bicycle repair shop and a breakfast/lunch spot in one.
- Explore the best streets in the centre of Breda, like Veemarkt and Sint-Annastraat. There are shops like, for example: The Green Submarine, Saar Barbaars and Bonk.
- Enjoy a lunch at Sip First.
- Create your own perfume at Algorithmic Perfumery. Fill in a questionnaire and, with the use of AI, the machine creates your own personal scent.
- End the day with a High Wine, Beer or Gin, including dinner at the charming Boterhal.
- Stay overnight at Hotel Botanique, an oasis of green in former barracks.
Day 2:
- Wake refreshed and follow a Pilates or Yoga lesson at Studio Flow and then enjoy a brunch at Teds. All of this is located in Hotel Botanique.
- Ride your bicycle towards BAAI Breda and rent a boat there. Sail to the north and moor at Skatepark Pier15, where you can drink a speciality beer on the terrace while the skaters do their tricks.
- Cycle back towards the centre and enjoy a dinner at Ciao Belli, an Italian shared-dining concept at Grote Markt. Insider tip: don’t forget to visit the ‘disco WC’.
- And, of course, you can’t go home without having climbed Breda’s gem, the Grote Kerk (Church of Our Lady). Tip: in the evening, go and admire the sunset.
- And keep your eyes open while exploring the city. There are beautiful mural paintings (Blind Walls Gallery) throughout all of Breda that tell the city’s stories.
