My ideal day in North Brabant begins on the padel court, followed by an adventurous family excursion and ends at a charming pancake restaurant.
With my home in Boxtel as a starting point, there is plenty to discover with the family: the Kampina, the Oertijmuseum (Prehistoric Museum) and, of course, the ever-lively s’-Hertogenbosch. But it is so much fun to explore new sections of Brabant! A road trip past observation towers, a boat trip through the Biesbosch National Park or an excursion to the Chocolate Factory. I have shared my favourite tips on visitbrabant.com!

My tips for your visit to North Brabant
My favourites
These are my 3 favourite tips for a day out in North Brabant:
- Climbing! The rock-climbing gym, Klimrijk Brabant in Veldhoven, De IJzeren Man leisure lake in Vught and the Brabantse Wal climbing park in Bergen op Zoom are our absolute winners. Climbing, scrambling and ziplining among the trees – children love it. And, secretly, the adults enjoy it just as much! Note: the climbing courses are usually suitable for children aged 6 and over, some even aged 8 and over.
- The Overloon War Museum made a huge impression on us. It was extra special to experience this together with our 8-year-old daughter and her grandfather. Among the tanks, airplanes and impressive vehicles you could almost taste the history. The interactive exploratory tour D-DEX really adds something extra. Definitely recommended!
- The Flaestoren observatory tower in Esbeek remains one of our favourite spots. You enjoy a beautiful view of the Kempen in the midst of nature. Tip: go for a walking tour and then lunch at Herberg In den Bockenreyder (the uitsmijters, fried eggs and ham served on slices of bread, are a real treat!).
Stay overnight (and wake up with a huge smile)

Staying overnight in The Efteling or at Beekse Bergen Safari Park is, of course, fantastic. But we also highly recommend the HUP Hotel in Mierlo!
It has one huge paradise for the children: an indoor playground where it is almost impossible to sit still. Swimming, bowling, Monkey Town, a Lego Corner, a football wall and a huge sports hall – all at one location. More tips for overnight stays?
