Since October 2020, the IJzeren Man (‘Iron Man’) in Vught can claim to have what is probably the biggest treetop adventure park in Benelux! Not only does the adventure park offer 135 climbing activities – spread across 15 climbing courses – but also has the largest netted area (700 m2 in total) in the Netherlands. Children from the age of 3 can climb and clamber around here. It combines perfectly with a swimming, sunbathing or activity day at the IJM Strandbad beach, with its large playground, water features, catering, sports fields and lounge area. Unique, adventurous and challenging
The netted area is suitable for children from the age of 3; up to the age of 6 they must have a supervisor who is at least 12 years old. The secured treetop park welcomes children with a minimum height of 1m35 and who are at least 8 years old (up to 12 years with an adult supervisor). Climbing conditions are in force: consider lace-up shoes and something more than just swimming shorts or a bikini. If you meet these requirements, you can have hours of fun. This can be on one of the zip lines, or what is probably the most difficult climb in the Netherlands: Mission Impossible. And if nothing scares you, take a free fall of no less than 15 metres!!
Strandbad beach & surroundings
You’ll get wonderful views across the IJzeren Man from the 20 metre high climbing tower, which can also be visited by Strandbad guests who don’t have a climbing ticket (via the stairs in the climbing tower). The IJzeren Man is well-known far and wide, thanks to its many themed weekends in the summer months. The terrace is a great place to be, while the IJM Strandhuys restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. This makes the IJzeren Man popular not only for families and children’s parties, but also for friends’ and corporate outings. It makes a perfect addition to a walk across the Vughtse Heide heathland, a visit to ’s-Hertogenbosch or an inspiring guided tour of Camp Vught National Monument.
