A lovely break from the hustle and bustle, waking up surrounded by meadows, with views of animals and the vast Brabant countryside: a farm stay is a unique experience for young and old alike. Whether you’re looking to take the children on an adventure among the cows and goats or you’re a couple seeking peace and quiet, space and the North Brabant countryside, a farm stay lets you experience the countryside up close.

North Brabant has many attractive farms with a campsite or B&B. From small-scale family businesses where children can help out on the farm to quaint country spots where you can relax and unwind during your holiday. If you are looking for a great holiday address on a farm, we have drawn up a list of several of these lovely places in North Brabant.

1. Wilgenhart Recreational Farm in Molenschot

Will you choose a pitch among the alpacas or in the orchard? Wilgenhart is a recreational and therapeutic farm with, among others, a mini-campsite and B&B, located between the cities of Breda and Tilburg. The campsite has two spacious camping fields. You can help out on the farm, romp about in the playground, build your own hut in the mini-woods or enjoy a fresh farm ice cream on the terrace. The surrounding area is lovely for cycling and walking. You needn’t leave the farm for shopping, be sure to visit the local shop.

2. De Gerda Hoeve in Schijf

Close to the Belgian border is IJsboerderij with its guest house De Gerda Hoeve. Choose one of the three apartments for your farm holiday and wake to a view of the meadows with grazing farm animals. Here, you not only learn more about farm life but you can also enjoy freshly made ice cream. Go on a lovely bicycle ride through the polders or enjoy shopping in Roosendaal.

Enjoy the sound of birds singing, hug an alpaca and watch the roe deer run through the woods. At In de Hei (adults only), located between Eindhoven and ‘s-Hertogenbosch, you can choose between various accommodation options. There are luxury glamping tents, cabins with their own veranda or a B&B room with a private terrace. On the alpaca farm you can go for a walk with the alpacas or feed them. The surrounding area is lovely for cycling and walking.

Hug cows, help the farmer, build huts or just have fun. All of this is possible at Van ’t Zandeind. This campsite, close to Tilburg, was declared the best farm campsite in the Netherlands in 2024. It’s a small campsite with 15 pitches, private toilet and washing facilities and is surrounded by cows. But there are also donkeys, chickens, pigs, sheep and rabbits. Farmer Jos also has a local shop on the premises where he sells, among other things, meat from his own cows.

5. De Smulhoeve horse farm in Kaatsheuvel

You can enjoy a luxurious camping experience on a farm in one of the glamping tents with its own toilet and washing facilities at De Smulhoeve in Kaatsheuvel. It’s located near the Loon and Drunen Dunes nature reserve in the Van Gogh National Park and the Efteling theme park. Not only are you able to sleep on the farm but you can also help with the chores on the horse farm. Care for the ponies and horses, go for a walk with them or even learn to ride.

If you are looking for peace and quiet as well as a good home base to explore the western part of North Brabant, then Munnikenhof mini-campsite is ideal. Centrally located between Breda, Oosterhout and the unique freshwater tidal area of the Biesbosch National Park, the surrounding area is lovely for walking and cycling. The campsite is situated along a part of the Zuiderwaterlinie route, near the Munnikenhof Line and the Houtse Lines. In addition to the mini-campsite, there is also a stud farm. You are welcome to view the stalls or see the horses grazing in the meadow.

7. Brabantse Hei glamping in Hooge Mierde

You can experience an extraordinary overnight stay on a farm in one of the tent cabins at the Brabantse Hei in Hooge Mierde. This farm campsite has an unobstructed view across the potato and corn fields and, on the farm itself, you can hug bunnies and play among the chickens and goats. Shopping can be done on the farm, which has a farm shop that sells, among other things, meat from its own cows. The glamping is situated close to the Belgian border, in the heart of the Brabant Kempen.

At the Menmoerhoeve campsite you can enjoy all that nature has to offer. If there is a place where you can literally submerge yourself in the North Brabant farm life, it is here. It has its own nature reserve that includes a butterfly garden, a vegetable garden and a playground as well as a petting zoo. The charming campsite has 25 pitches and 4 log cabins for overnight stays that offer the ultimate in rural tranquillity. After a carefree life, the cows, sheep and pigs that graze on the farm are processed into delicious lunch and dinner dishes that are served in its own restaurant.
