Close to the River Maas, amidst the fields, in the far east of the province of North Brabant, lies St. Agatha Convent. The chapel rises from the landscape, protected by a dyke. Monks have been associated with this spot since 1371 and the Order of the Holy Cross occupies the convent.

The total length of the trail is 330 kilometres, but there are also beautiful trails marked out around various monasteries.

The Oeffelter Meent
The Oeffelter Meent, east of Sint Agatha, was owned by the Crosiers of Sint Agatha from 1400 to 1648. With the Peace of Münster, the Protestants gained control of State Brabant, and the monastery’s properties reverted to the state.
Maasheggen UNESCO
The Meuse hedgerows consist of long rows of centuries-old hawthorn and blackthorn hedges. They serve as property boundaries, and their prickly nature also prevents livestock from easily escaping the enclosure.
