Did you know that De Regentenhoeve (meaning ‘Regents’ Farmstead’ in Dutch) gets its name from a legend about Joanna of Brabant? She gifted the land to the residents of Biest-Houtakker. The land was leased to farmers, and the proceeds were managed by the regents. To this day, they still use these funds towards initiatives that benefit the village. As such, the exceptional history of De Regentenhoeve lives on.
