BERGEN OP ZOOM: HOME TO A PLETHORA OF MONUMENTS

Bergen op Zoom is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands and that is reflected in every corner of the city. Walking through narrow alleyways and old squares you will discover the many monuments and after a climb up De Peperbus tower you will have a beautiful view over the city. Wander through the streets that open onto the charming Grote Markt and discover beautiful spots such as Markiezenhof, the oldest city palace in the Netherlands.

Are you looking for an adventurous day out? Have fun at Treetop Adventure Park Brabantse Wal: challenging bridges, sturdy lianas and crazy zip lines! Are you staying the night? Then the oldest city hotel in the Netherlands, Grand Hotel de Draak, is a must. Or bring your own house on wheels and stay the night in peace at family campsite Uit en Thuis

Tip: along the border with Zeeland and Belgium you will find a stunning natural park: De Brabantse Wal. The landscape is known for its natural height differences, with transitions from clay to sand, from forest to heathland and from dry to wet. At Fort de Roovere in Halsteren you'll find the Mozesbrug (Moses Bridge) where you can walk through the water while keeping your feet dry. On this spot you will also find the Pompejus tower, one of the many lookout towers of Brabant.
