"This hotel is a real Grand Old Dame!"
Grand Hotel De Draak has 62 rooms. Most of them have 14th  or 15th century architectural elements, but with plenty of modern-day comfort. From deluxe rooms with their modern design, to junior and superior suites, they are unrivalled both in size and exclusivity in the city (think jacuzzi, high ceilings with original decorative elements, and a four-poster bed). It's a perfect fit with the interesting history of Bergen op Zoom. Not only that, but the hotel also contains the De Draak Medical Beauty Center: a spa and wellness suite with a luxury sauna, Turkish steam bath, infrared sauna and a gym.

Protected townscape
You can learn all about the history of the fortified town of Bergen op Zoom on a guided walk. You might visit the late-Gothic city palace Het Markiezenhof, the 1832 Synagogue, the Sint-Gertrudiskerk with its famous Pepper Plant towers, or the Gevangenenpoort - a relic of the original city walls from the 14th century. The city is on the Brabantse Wal - a protected cultural and historic natural area with a sudden transition from the sandy higher ground to the marine clay polders lower down. In the city, this has led to picturesque lanes and striking differences in height, and you can also experience this natural phenomenon on a pretty cycle route through the landscape of West Brabant.
