Attention! In the coming years, until 2029, work will be carried out as part of the 'Meandering Meuse' project between Ravenstein and Lithoijen. On this route, the paths between junctions 59-60-65 will be impassable until May 2027. 

This walking route allows amblers to discover the area between Uden and Megen. It runs from Maria Refugie Abbey and Museum Krona in Uden to St Antonius of Padua Monastery in Megen.  On the way you will pass various locations such as the Church of Saint Peter and the former Kruisheren monastery. You can also visit small natural museum and information point Natuurcentrum De Maashorst and the Sint-Josephsberg monastery. This route is part of Our Monastery Trail, a trail in 15 stages.

Brabant Monastery Trail takes you past around fifty-five monasteries and abbeys in North Brabant in various stages. The total length of the trail is 330 kilometres, but there are also beautiful trails marked out around various monasteries.

The forest you walk thru was around 1915 a large heathland with many wet hollows: low-lying, moist areas. Especially in the winter, a large part was underwater and there was plenty of ice skating.

Brother Everardus chapel

In Megen, the Holy Bruurke enjoys some recognition. Brother Everardus Witte (1868-1950) was the porter at the monastery from around 1920 until his death in 1950.
