From ’t Koetshuys it is easy to explore the amazing splendour of the Brabantse Wal. The B&B is on this steep edge: from this natural transition from the higher sandy grounds to the lower-lying sea-clay polders; close to Bergen op Zoom, the city of the Marquis, and near the Zeeland border to Tholen island. ’t Koetshuys is therefore also a perfect home base for going on day trips, bicycle tours and walking tours. Be amazed in historic fortified cities, enjoy the beautiful views from the steep edge of the Brabantse Wal or retreat into the peaceful countryside. For example, follow one of the many walking or cycle routes that take you past picturesque places and historic gems.
A tip for your visit: climb the Pompejus observation tower, one of the most impressive structures along the Zuiderwaterlinie, which is the oldest, longest and most used water line in the Netherlands. The climb of 129 steps means you can enjoy a fabulous view over the West Brabant Water Line as far as Steenbergen. You can even see the familiar church tower, the Peperbus, in Bergen op Zoom.
