For more than 100 years, De Rustende Jager has been a stopping place for all who visit the nearby Loonse and Drunense Duinen National Park. Whether they visit on foot, by horse, on a mountain bike or on an ‘ordinary’ bicycle, few can resist the temptation of the hospitable, friendly atmosphere. The place has been long known for decades because of its Brabantse Broeder, a sweet bread filled with raisins and spiced almond paste. This delicious sweet bread is a house speciality, and is perfect when combined with a cappuccino on the delightful terrace. With a view of the meadows, it is possible to relax at the edge of the woods before, during or after a ride or walk.

In addition to a delicious bite to eat and a drink, De Rustende Jager is also well-known for its bicycle rental. It has more than 700 bicycles, varying from ordinary and electric bicycles to mountain bikes, tandems, electric tricycles and electric companion cycles. If there is one thing that this wheelchair-accessible cafe exudes, it is that everyone is welcome here! The spacious terrace can accommodate many guests, with both ordinary toilets indoors and a disabled toilet outdoors. There are also 6 showers available to freshen up after mountain biking. Due to the large number of visitors, it is only possible to reserve for large groups. But don’t let that scare you off: “Despite the busyness, the staff was very friendly,” states an entry in the visitor’s book.

One of the most beautiful places in North Brabant is also an amazing location to hold a meeting: a guarantee for inspiration. De Rustende Jager can also provide enough bicycles on location for a great ride with friends, colleagues or family. Head towards De Rustende Jager for a delicious lunch or a stiff drink, and continue cycling to your final destination afterwards. Of course, it is also possible to begin your ride here, and the bicycles can be picked up later. Very handy!
