There are campsites especially for children, the best amusement parks, holiday resorts with spectacular water parks and, of course, acres of beautiful countryside to explore. We've put together 7 tips for unforgettable trips with the whole family.
1. The best kids' campsites in the Netherlands...
...you'll find them in North Brabant! Like De Paal Campsite in Bergeijk. Not only has it been voted the best children's campsite by Dutch travellers’ association ANWB, it's also a “Leading Camping of Europe”. This family campsite is heaven for the little ones, with lots of fun activities, fantastic swimming pools, great entertainment, and the largest sandpit in the Netherlands. Another beautiful campsite is Charme Campsite Hartje Groen, located on the gorgeous Maashorst natural area. And at Het Goeie Leven Campsite in Eerde, you can experience camping your way, in your choice of a safari lodge, tepee, or retro caravan. Of course you're also welcome to bring your own tent or caravan.
2. A world of wonder
There's excitement around every corner at theme park Efteling, from spectacular shows to thrilling roller coasters and even an enchanting fairytale forest. Explore the Netherlands' largest amusement park, surrounded by scenic countryside. It's the perfect outing for the whole family, especially with the latest addition, the Max and Moritz family roller coaster! Does spending the night in a fairytale world sound like a dream? Book a room at the Efteling Hotel, rent a cottage or room at the Loonsche Land Holiday Village, or enjoy a stay at the Efteling Bosrijk Holiday Village.
3. Set off on a castle adventure
It's a mainstay of nearly every fairytale: a real castle. And in North Brabant you can visit the real thing! Take a trip to Heeswijk Castle in Heeswijk-Dinther, beautifully nestled into the woods, where you can look for secret stairs and passageways, climb the tower and try on a knight's helmet, or listen to the castle's unique stories. Or how about Helmond Castle? It's right in the city centre and the largest moated castle in the Netherlands. Explore this impressive castle in style, decked out as a princess or knight, and take a trip back in time with some fun castle games!
4. The countryside with kids
A delightful day in the woods, building huts, looking for insects or other animals, getting a breath of fresh air on your bike, or enjoying a well-deserved picnic.... however you slice it, it's wonderful to be outside. And in Brabant, there is plenty of beautiful countryside to explore. With these tips the kids will be glad to join in your exciting adventure.
5. A night in the wild
The Beekse Bergen Safari Park in Hilvarenbeek is the largest wildlife safari park in the Benelux, where you can get up close and personal with around 1500 wild animals. Explore the safari park with your own car, take an adventure walk, or head out on a boat safari with a ranger. You can spend the night among the wild animals at the Safari Resort or book a Jungalow in the holiday park. And if you'd like a break from all the animals, combine your stay with a day out at Beekse Bergen Playland!

Whether it's spotting dinosaurs, ringing bells, or travelling back to prehistoric times - in North Brabant, there are scores of kid-friendly museums to visit. Plan a visit to the Oertijdmuseum (Prehistoric Museum) in Boxtel, Prehistoric Village in Eindhoven, or Klok & Peel Museum in Asten.
