Here, nature lovers can enjoy a varied landscape with beautiful views. You will pass the Beuven, the largest mere in the Netherlands. Here you will find unusual plants such as the water purslane and the carnivorous sundew. Tip: at Natuurpoort De Plaetse, the starting point of your cycling tour, there is a sheepfold that houses a herd of 350 Kempisch heath sheep. You can enjoy a drink or lunch at the nearby cafe De Strabrechtse Heide. Be sure to take a look at the heath garden, the insect hotel and the hives.

This cycling route was developed in cooperation with Dutch forestry organisation Staatsbosbeheer. Erik Schram, forester for the Groote Heide heath, recommends the cycling route:

How does the cycle route work?
The cycle route is cleary signposted. The intersection network is a network of beautiful and clearly signposted cycling paths throughout North Brabant. Each intersection is numbered. You can cycle from one intersection to the next.
