Joke and Joey van Heesbeen, a passionate couple who love good food and cooking, have transformed the former ‘Koetshuis’ in Roosendaal into Restaurant 1857.
The building is a delight to look at all evening long. For instance, the authentic bread oven and the trough from which the horses used to drink are still there. But the food will also put a smile on your face. Take a seat in the light-filled conservatory or in the old living quarters of the Koetshuis and savour the passion for good food. In October 2024, the restaurant was awarded its first Michelin star.
