Meltheads
Meltheads is a young band from Antwerp making waves with a bunch of talent and an equal amount of passion and swagger. Driven by the metronomically tight rhythm section of Tim Penseart (bass) and Simon de Geus (drums) and fueled by the sharp and virtuoso guitar of Yunas de Proost.
At the glowing center is frontman Sietse Willems, who appears to be the incarnate mix of Jim Morrison's charisma, Robert Plant's sex appeal, and Iggy Pop's fury. It's no wonder the band storms every stage, playing shows as if each one were their last. Meltheads bring infectious garage, clever post-punk, and (cold) wave influenced by The Chats, Amyl and the Sniffers, Gang of Four, Wire, and - yes - De Brassers and Aroma Di Amore. Catch them on Saturday, March 9, in Stroomhuis.
