In 2015, Ad van Sleuwen came up with the idea of starting ventimusicali baroque ensemble with only wind instruments. To add more diversity to the program, the ensemble was strengthened with a singer, Catharine Hawkins, and a bassoon in the person of Jac van Trier.

Since 2022, the ensemble has been expanded with an additional oboist, Adrie van Beurden.
Since October 2023, Silvia Schildkamp has temporarily taken over from Jac van Trier on the baroque bassoon.
