Farmhouse Fluderd

This farmhouse is of the Brabant long-gabled type. The oldest mention of this farmhouse in Campinia dates back to 1660. At that time, the resident was named Merieken, widow of Niclaes Lodewijcx. The house was called "The Little House in the Haegh." From 1800 onward, several generations of the Van Woensel family lived in this farmhouse.

In July 1924, this family provided lodging for Jan Kruijsen and his second wife, Hannah, from Silesia. Jan Kruijsen (1874–1938) was a painter by profession. Initially, Jan lived in part of the farmhouse but later had to move to a wooden outbuilding, where he also had his artist's studio.

The farm was recently completely restored, and the outbuilding was demolished.

The Fluterd is part of the original path that connected the town center with the Chapel of the Holy Oak. So everyone who went to the Chapel passed this building. This included the Montfort seminarians from Bijstervelt. The aforementioned Jan Kruijsen enjoyed having conversations with them. Incidentally, Jan painted many paintings of the immediate area (the Boterwijk).

The farm is not open to the public, but you are welcome to walk a short distance into the Fluterd.
