There is a unique cycle path in Eindhoven, just outside Nuenen which was inspired by The Starry Night by the master painter Vincent van Gogh. The cycle path is freely accessible to everyone. After dark visitors will be amazed  by a design of light and colour. A magical experience.

Techno-poetry
Together with the artist Daan Roosegaarde, Heijmans developed special innovative technology in which the path is illuminated by thousands of twinkling stones. This creates a play on light and poetry. Roosegaarde: ‘I wanted to create a place that people will experience in a special way, the technical combined with experience, that’s what techno-poetry means to me’.

The cycle path forms part of the Van Gogh cycle route that connects the Vincent van Gogh heritage locations in Brabant, Vincent’s Homeland . The world-famous artist produced his first masterpiece, The Potato Eaters in Nuenen, and the Opwetten and Col watermills featured in his paintings. The unique cycle path is located between these two watermills, bridging the gap between contemporary design, innovation, cultural heritage and tourism in Brabant.

Location and accessibility
The cycle path is located in the eastern part of Eindhoven, between the Opwetten Watermill in Nuenen and the Col Watermill in Eindhoven. Cars can be parked on the carpool site at the intersection of the Wolvendijk and the A270 motorway. Public transport: bus number 6 from Eindhoven station. Get off at the Koudenhoven bus stop, then walk 600 for metres.
