This former convent was occupied in 1903 by French Trappist nuns. They named the house Notre Dame du Perpetual Secours (Our Lady of Perpetual Help). In 1912 the sisters returned to France. During the First World War novices of the Fathers of the Sacred Hearts, who had fled from Belgium, lived there. Afterwards the building came into the hands of manufacturer Van den Bergh, who gave it the name De Rendierhoeve. Possibly because the labels of the advertising material for his AaBe blankets depicted reindeer.
