If you are looking for a quality sparkling wine produced in the Netherlands, then you really cannot ignore Landgoed Heenwerf. Heenwerf is one of only two Dutch winegrowers that produce ‘bubbles’ according to the Méthode Traditionelle (Traditional Method), where the entire process, from grape to bottle, takes place fully under our own management, on the estate. And successfully so, judging by this review: “They produce, among other things, sparkling wines at the champagne level, liqueur wines as well as gin. I would heartily recommend that everyone drop by for a sample and possibly make a purchase.”

Heenwerf naturally attracts mainly wine enthusiasts because of the various wine tastings, the Vineyard Dinner, the grape harvest and winter pruning. But it also attracts nature lovers since the grape harvest and winter pruning are very much appreciated by those who enjoy being mindfully busy outdoors. In this ‘gem in the polder’ you can also enjoy various local products and, purchases made on location are cheaper than those made via the webshop.
A tip for your visit: discover personalised attention and receive tips from Sofie and Marnix! The owners of Heenwerf are very involved socially. Something that will strike you when you ask for tips: most references are to locations of businesses that are nearby and befriended. For example, Buiten aan de Baak mini-campsite, Bobla SUP & Surf (explore the area from the water!), Carpe Diem restaurant in Oud-Gastel, or the luxury accommodations of holiday park Cruyslandse Kreken on the other side of the water.
A visit to this gem (sometimes still undiscovered even by locals) can therefore easily be combined with a stay in the area: “Until today, I had no idea that there was a vineyard so close by. We enjoyed ourselves so much!”
