This building was formerly Jan Provily’s boarding school for boys. Vincent went to school there after the summer of 1864, when he was 11 years old. He stayed there for two years until he was admitted to the High School in Tilburg. Vincent later wrote in a letter how his parents had brought him to Zevenbergen. He described his great feeling of abandonment.
