You can get an even better look at the surrounding area from ‘t Meulke watchtower. The Antselse Watermolen, a bark mill, once stood on this spot. Oak bark was finely ground in a bark mill. Adding water created ‘bark liquor’: a liquid with lots of tannic acid. The bark liquor was used to tan leather.
