BoerenSolex gives you a truly unique way to discover North Brabant – atop a fully reconditioned Solex, the Netherlands’ very first ‘moped’, dating back to 1946. Hop on to one of these classic models and cruise by monumental buildings, picturesque fortress towns, small villages and some of the region’s greenest nature areas. Take a ferry over to the other side and come back to Herpen, where groups can enjoy a barbecue, buffet, kiosk serving ‘frieten’ (or fries) or pizza to round off the adventure (must be booked in advance). There are a number of other catering options along the way. BoerenSolex offers a number of different packages to choose from – visit a brewery, enjoy a photo puzzle tour, learn archery, visit the beautiful gardens of Appeltern, stroll through the monastery town of Megen or hold a special team-building activity. A trip on a Solex is guaranteed to bring any team of colleagues, friends or relatives closer together.
‘What a great afternoon!’
The Solex was the Netherlands’ first ‘moped’, with a small engine fitted above the front wheel and a reinforced frame to make it more robust than a regular bicycle. With such ease of operation, pretty much anyone can use a Solex. For those without a driving licence or moped certificate, there are also tandem Solex available for hire.

Touring along the Meuse River
The routes along North Brabant’s Maasdijken stretch from Maasbommel to Grave. Along the way, you’ll have plenty of time to stop off at one of the many catering establishments, ranging from cafés and restaurants to hotels and marinas. And when you get back, why not enjoy a drink and a great view as you think back on what is probably one of the most exciting ways to explore North Brabant?
