Philzuid takes you to the imposing landscapes of the far north. From the Northern Lights to endless mountains and lakes.
Enough inspiration for composers such as Edvard Grieg and Jean Sibelius, who captured rugged nature in beautiful melodies. The program opens with Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite, a series of lush and dreamy sounds that embrace rich Norwegian folklore. This is followed by Grieg's Romantic Piano Concerto, one of the most beloved concert works in music history.
Performed by the internationally acclaimed pianist Saleem Ashkar, who is guaranteed to deliver a captivating interpretation. The concert concludes with the Second Symphony by Finland's national icon Jean Sibelius. A hopeful and triumphant work that throws the shutters wide open to sweeping panoramas, the power of the Finnish spirit, and nature.

Under the direction of the versatile French conductor Ariane Matiakh, Philzuid explores the rich musical traditions of Scandinavia, where melodies, myths, and landscapes come to life.
