The program opens with Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite, a series of lush and dreamy sounds that embrace rich Norwegian folklore. This is followed by Grieg's Romantic Piano Concerto, one of the most beloved concert works in music history.
Performed by the internationally acclaimed pianist Saleem Ashkar, who is guaranteed to deliver a captivating interpretation. The concert concludes with the Second Symphony by Finland's national icon Jean Sibelius. A hopeful and triumphant work that throws the shutters wide open to sweeping panoramas, the power of the Finnish spirit, and nature.
