Month of Philosophy 2026 - ‘Know ourselves’

April is dedicated to the Month of Philosophy. Throughout the Netherlands and Flanders, lectures, debates, festivals, and philosophical evenings are organized around one central theme. In 2026, that theme is ‘Know Thyself’.

What does it mean to know yourself in an age of social media, algorithms, and divergent truths? How do we relate to one another in a society where everyone brings their own perspective? The Month of Philosophy invites us to reflect on these questions—not just in theory, but specifically in conversation with others. It is an invitation to be curious, to ask questions, and to look at yourself and the world with a fresh perspective.

The Eindhoven Region Library has long been committed to philosophy and reflection. Throughout the year, the library offers space for philosophical inspiration via books, lectures, dialogue meetings, and workshops. The Month of Philosophy aligns beautifully with this and provides an extra opportunity to reflect on who we are, how we live together, and what connects us.
