Songs around the Campfire with James Maddock & Popkoor El Pio

On 30 May 2026, the acclaimed British singer-songwriter James Maddock will perform alongside the pop choir El Pio at the Kapel in het Park – a unique, atmospheric venue.

Experience an intimate evening where powerful harmonies and pure storytelling come together. The Chapel transforms into a warm musical circle with a campfire and candlelight. With accompanying wines and snacks, it promises to be a complete experience for lovers of music and atmosphere.

James Maddock

James Maddock is known for his raw, soulful voice and his blend of folk rock and Americana. After moving from England to New York, he built an impressive career. His album Sunrise On Avenue C won a New York Music Award, and Wake Up And Dream was voted one of the best albums of the year by WFUV listeners.

He has shared the stage with artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Pete Seeger, The Waterboys and Counting Crows. His new album, Forever June, was released on 1 May. This concert forms part of his European tour. During this tour, he will once again be accompanied by Nick Murphy on percussion and congas.

Pop Choir El Pio

El Pio is a friendly and passionate pop choir from Etten-Leur with over 30 members. El Pio sings well-known pop songs in beautiful, original polyphonic arrangements. From Miss Montreal to Kensington and from Queen to Aerosmith: if it moves you, they’ll sing it!
