Johan Fretz's 2018 novel "Onder de Paramariboom" (Under the Paramaribo Tree) is the central book of the library campaign "Heel Nederland Leest 2025" (All of the Netherlands Reads 2025). Starting November 1st, it will be available free of charge at libraries for a month.

Starting November 1st, it will be available free of charge at libraries for a month. The book was chosen because November 25th marks the 50th anniversary of Suriname's independence from the Netherlands.
