Make Some Noise: Desire. Stage. Change.
With Make Some Noise: Desire. Stage. Change., Van Abbemuseum presents the ninth and final edition of Positions — a series that, for over a decade, has offered space for experimentation, imagination and independent artistic voices.
This closing chapter arrives at a moment of transition: the museum is preparing for a new phase, Eindhoven is growing and evolving, and artists around the world are shaping new perspectives on presence, resistance and transformation.
Senior Curator Zippora Elders transforms the museum’s historic building into a resonant chamber, an intergenerational music club and a stage for all. Make Some Noise: Desire. Stage. Change. is an activating exhibition filled with bold ideas, imaginative reflections and daring performances. It brings together artists whose work is driven by energy and eccentricity — with movement, the body, choreography and theatricality at its core. The exhibition encourages desire, to feel, to take the stage, to make noise, to listen, and to collectively imagine new possibilities.
Make Some Noise: Desire. Stage. Change. opens festively on 31 January 2026 with a full-day programme, including Dutch premieres of international performances in and around the museum. More details on the ongoing programme will be shared later this autumn.
