Geerten Liefting (Nijkerk, Dec 1983) studied Organ, Church Music, Improvisation, Composition, and Choral Conducting at the Conservatories of Utrecht, Antwerp, and Rotterdam, as well as Improvisation and Composition.
Since August 2007, he has been conductor-organist of the Church of Saint Bonaventure in Woerden, and also assistant organist of the Grote or St. Laurenskerk in Rotterdam and vesper organist of the Domkerk in Utrecht.

As an organist, he won first and second prizes at various major international competitions. He performed in productions such as Festival Voor de Wind and Culturele Caravaan, and conducted major productions with choirs such as the Laurenscantorij, the Ribatutta Ensemble, and the Netherlands Wind Ensemble.

In 2013, he won first prize at the Hinsz Composition Competition in Kampen, where the Netherlands Chamber Choir premiered his work ‘Renovatio Mundi’. Geerten gives many concerts and composes for various ensembles.
