With their infectious energy, Chef’Special has been conquering the biggest venues and festivals for years. From compelling songs like In Your Arms and Amigo to crowd favorites like Nicotine and Afraid of the Dark, the band manages to create a unique atmosphere time and again, completely captivating the audience.

The Haarlem-based quintet is coming to the Open Air Theatre Mariahout for a special open-air show. This creates more room for improvisation, the joy of playing, and surprising versions of well-known songs. “In the past, we saw our performances as a moment to briefly escape reality. By now, we feel that it is actually the other way around. A live performance is coming home to yourself and to the people around you. Everyone needs the energy of others – that real ‘human connection’. That is what Chef’Special stands for.”

Support act: John-Lewis

Folk with a hard “F” – John-Lewis plays cheerful Dutch-language songs about the sorrows of life on his guitar. On stage, he is uninhibited and fully in touch with his audience, as if they were standing together in a pub. At the same time, that conviviality clashes with his sad lyrics. John-Lewis sings about love, everyday pain, and the times he had a bit too much to drink. His music is a personal outlet that resonates with the spirit of the times.
