Few can rival Antonín Dvořák as a musical painter of natural landscapes. Philzuid transports you to the Bohemian countryside with his Fifth Symphony, a work where Slavic folk music merges with the grandeur of the classical tradition. It was with this symphony that Dvořák found his own voice—featuring idyllic melodies, powerful rhythms, and a finale in which his symphonic ambitions fully blossom. Chief conductor Duncan Ward and Philzuid embark on a musical expedition through Dvořák’s beloved Czech homeland. The journey then continues to the exotic Argentina of Alberto Ginastera. Joined by Belgian harp virtuoso Anneleen Lenaerts—a permanent member of the Vienna Philharmonic—the orchestra brings the sparkling Harp Concerto to life. It is a virtuosic work rich in robust rhythms, sultry harmonies, and alluring melodies. Ginastera sweeps you across the endless Argentine pampas while also driving the tempo with incisive, dazzling harp passages. A remarkable musical voyage of discovery, spanning from Bohemia to Argentina.
