About the performers

The Philips Philharmonic Choir was founded in 1937 by Philips employees. Today, its members—including many expatriates—come from the greater Brainport region. Representing eight nationalities, they share a passion for singing classical music.

The Nijmegen Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1950 as a chamber orchestra and has since grown into a full-fledged symphony orchestra. The orchestra consists primarily of highly advanced amateur musicians alongside a few professionals. While we value the joy of playing and a sociable atmosphere, maintaining a high standard of performance is also a top priority. We give concerts several times a year, never shying away from challenging programs. We perform a very broad repertoire, ranging from classical to modern works.

In keeping with tradition, the Nijmegen Symphony Orchestra performs at De Vereeniging in the autumn and at the Stevenskerk on Boxing Day (the second day of Christmas). We are also invited to perform at operas, choral concerts, commemorations, and festive gatherings, both at home and abroad.
