The MuziektuinPodium Foundation is once again holding an afternoon concert in the Music Garden of Beek en Donk.

This afternoon, too, features a varied program with performances on the beautiful kiosk and the small stage next to the ParkPavilion.

The afternoon concert will be opened by the Sint Joachim Senior Choir from Beek en Donk. This mixed senior choir was founded in 1969 and consists of approximately 30 members. Thanks to their instrumentation of sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses, they are able to sing four-part songs. In addition to a number of cheerful songs in their repertoire, they enjoy singing songs in various foreign languages.

In addition to a number of cheerful songs in their repertoire, they enjoy singing songs in various foreign languages.

Next, it is the turn of the Muzikale Music Association from Aarle-Rixtel. This wind orchestra, comprising approximately thirty musicians, is under the musical direction of Hubert Geurts. They play light classical music by well-known composers such as Verdi, Mozart, and Beethoven. In addition, marches and polkas from harmony and fanfare music are played, as well as well-known melodies from world-famous musicals and swinging music with a Dixieland and Big Band feel.

This is followed by a performance by Rolf Hupkes and Marianke van Doore-Hobé from Beek en Donk. In an acoustic setting, they perform well-known songs by Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles, Neil Young, R.E.M., and The Smiths, among others, which is interspersed with original work by Nouveau Vélo. With two-part harmonies, guitar, piano, and flute, an atmospheric and personal afternoon is created, full of recognizable songs, beautiful melodies, and room for the story behind the music.

To conclude, the afternoon's program is rounded off with a performance by Acoustic Charm from Best. These two musicians with different backgrounds clicked and have a great deal of musical fun. A dreamy singer, Marianne, and a seasoned guitarist, Paul, form a surprising duo. With warm solos, two-part harmonies, and acoustic guitar accompaniment, dressed in an Acoustic Charm jacket, they bring familiar and forgotten gems from nostalgia.
