Music garden concert

The MuziektuinPodium Foundation is once again holding an afternoon concert in the Muziektuin of Beek en Donk.

This afternoon, too, features a varied program with performances on the beautiful kiosk and the small stage next to the ParkPavilion.

The afternoon concert will be opened by the mixed choir Koskoier from Gemert. This mixed choir, with approximately sixteen enthusiastic members, has existed for over fifty years. At many performances in this region, they present an extensive and varied repertoire.

Next, it is the turn of the popular wind orchestra Just4Fun from Eindhoven. The large lineup of approximately thirty wind players and five percussionists ensures plenty of power, and the seasoned musicians guarantee quality. The ‘big band’ style, featuring mainly well-known music from the sixties, seventies, and eighties, makes the orchestra very recognizable. The name Just4Fun indicates what they stand for: musical enjoyment for themselves and for the audience.

They will be followed by a performance by Just For Fun from Helmond. This is an enthusiastic group with approximately forty singing members and an accompanying combo, led by conductor/pianist Dan Loredan. The vocal group is divided into five voices: sopranos, mezzo-sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses. In addition to songs from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, the repertoire has since been expanded to include jazz and musical numbers, pop songs, and the conductor's own arrangements.

This afternoon's program concludes with a performance by the Duo Vita & Ronald. Vita Ietswaard (vocals and piano) and Ronald Welgemoed (vocals and guitar) form a semi-acoustic duo with a repertoire best described as Americana, and in the broadest sense of the word at that. They play country, sixties, blues, folk, and rock & roll songs, with a prominent role for two-part harmonies and a swinging rhythm. Songs by The Mavericks, Dave Edmunds, Johnny Cash, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, among others, and occasionally an original number.
