Being partial to North Brabant is something that goes without saying to me. It’s deeply ingrained in my upbringing, in the soft ‘G’ whilst out and about, and in the North Brabant charm and hospitality. I grew up surrounded by the beautiful natural landscape of the Kempen nature reserve and the Meierij part of North Brabant. I live in Eindhoven: the city of light, bursting with culture, technology and design, with plenty to discover in the great outdoors as well.

I love to walk or cycle with friends or my boyfriend in the area surrounding Eindhoven, and I keep coming across new places. You can also find me at a local fair with local products or with a sketchbook along the water. On Saturdays, I do volunteer work outdoors in a green setting by a farm. Being outdoors with good company and beautiful surroundings – you couldn’t make me any happier. And for that, you actually needn’t go any further than, yes, North Brabant.

The most beautiful gems just round the corner from Eindhoven:

You can go for a walk in Nuenens Broek, a nature reserve next to Nuenen, from where Van Gogh drew his inspiration. Another tip is the Oud Meer walking tour in Son, where fens alternate with wooded areas.
Tea with bitterballen (croquette snacks) can be had at the Gasthuishoeve, where you can eat indoors or outdoors and still find yourself in the midst of greenery.
Local products can be purchased at the Wasven Gasterij organic restaurant or at the Philips Fruit Garden. Here you can sample products that have been freshly harvested.
There is a beautiful cycle route between Son and Sint-Oedenrode. My favourite route here is the Operation Market Garden cycling route, where nature and history intertwine.

At Brabant Partners I work on creating and maintaining the most beautiful North Brabant routes for cycling, hiking, horse riding and mountain biking. As a volunteer coordinator and route manager, I am in contact with volunteers daily about the route network and, through them, I get to know which places are really worth visiting.
