One of my favourite natural areas near my own home is Cartierheide heath. Cartierheide is part of the Brabantse Kempen region. Here you can walk through the woods, past lakes and over the heath. The Cartierheide is different in every season and always worth a visit. On fine summer days, look out for the smooth snakes that sometimes lie sunbathing on the footpaths and cycle paths!
