It's far more than a local museum," explains one enthusiastic visitor. Discover, delve, play and have fun at this interesting museum located just to the south-west of Eindhoven in the beautiful Kempen landscape.

Ingenuity

A place to enjoy
Situated on the cycle hub network, the museum is popular amongst cyclists and hikers, culture seekers, bus groups and (grand)parents with children. Fully accessible to disabled persons, the museum also offers spoken texts for the blind and partially sighted, and written texts for the deaf and hard of hearing, giving everyone the opportunity to immerse themselves in the lively history of this remarkable area of Brabant. Outside, you can enjoy the scents of the fragrant herb and flower garden and garden of forgotten vegetables, which are situated amongst an orchard of ancient apple trees. The location also boasts a collection of art.

Creative nostalgia
Groups can take advantage of a number of interactive packages to help them discover the museum and its surroundings, including the "Smokkelwandeling" (Smugglers' Hike) and "Grenzeloos Genieten" (Boundless Enjoyment). The "Smokkelroute" (Smugglers' Route) bus tour transports you back to the times of "Romantic Crime", plus there's also the cross-border "Teuten en Landlopersroute" (Travelling Traders and Vagrants Tour) and "Kerken en Kapellekesroute" (Churches and Chapels Tour) that take you through Brabant's Kempen region. The museum quest is ideal for families and company outings. As one enthusiastic guest concluded, "It is a surprising and informative museum, for young people too."

Brabant Bicycle Café
Kempenmuseum De Acht Zaligheden is an official Brabants Fietscafé; a Brabant Bicycle Café. In these bicycle cafés, cyclists are made to feel especially welcome!
