There is plenty to do along the route. You will encounter the unique Biesbosch Museum Island, for example. You will also pass by a trout pond, the Aakvlaai water sports area, and all sorts of welcoming spots where you can have a bite to eat or a drink. The route can be cycled in both directions.

  • Landscape art
Hidden in the countryside you will find “De Wassende Maan” (the waning moon). This is a work of art made from the land and the water; a labyrinth of ditches and dikes in the shape of a moon. If you cycle past it, you probably won't notice it. Climb the hill to see this natural spectacle.
  • Biesbosch MuseumEiland
This visitor centre showcases the past, present and future of the Biesbosch in an award-winning and sustainable building. The "Biesbosch Experience" - a scale model of the area with its polders, dikes and streams - is a playful scene that teaches children about water management and the importance of the area. Biesbosch MuseumEiland is an official Brabants Fietscafé; a Brabant Bicycle Café. In these bicycle cafés, cyclists are made to feel especially welcome!
  • Go canoeing!
A canoe is a lovely way to discover the area. A way to experience the Biesbosch from up close. On the narrow winding creeks with overhanging branches you can imagine yourself in the jungle. You might even run into a beaver...! Haven't had enough adventure? Then spend the night in the heart of the Biesbosch in your own tent on one of the designated fields that are only reachable by boat. Or opt for a little more luxury at one of the charming campsites.
