Cycle through a maze of rivers, islets with willows, and streams with crystal clear water. National Park De Biesbosch is the largest freshwater tidal area in Europe and its unique landscape is easily traversed by bike, via a simple network of numbered junctions!
There is plenty to do along the route. You will encounter the unique Biesbosch Museum Island, for example. A beautiful building where the past, present and future of the Biesbosch are highlighted in an illustrative manner. Enjoy the watery landscape along the way and who knows, you might spot a beaver or a white-tailed eagle! You will also pass by a trout pond, the Aakvlaai water sports area, and all sorts of welcoming spots where you can have a bite to eat or a drink. The route can be cycled in both directions.
Parking and bike rental
You can park your car at Pancake house Het Bolle Bevertje (junction 8). This is an ideal starting point for the cycle route. The restaurant also rents out bikes with gears, electric bikes, tandems and mountain bikes.
