The English-speaking staff will be more than happy to tell you all about the cycling and walking options in the beautiful surroundings. Consider an outing to the Zandwijkse Molen (windmill) (from 1699!!) on Saturday or – by appointment – to the Oude Doornse Molen, which is a few years ‘younger’ (from 1700). Furthermore, the Land of Heusden and Althena has some picturesque villages and numerous old farms. It is perfect for active seniors but also for a fun family day out for example. On top of that, Almkerk is only a few kilometres from De Biesbosch National Park: a unique freshwater tidal wetland for which you can just as easily book a cruise or take the helm of your own boat with the love of your life, for example.
