New exhibitions
The exhibitions in the museum all have to do with the two major themes of the museum: the rich history of Breda and the surrounding area and modern and contemporary visual art. From 13 May on you can see: Ambition & Desire – Breda in the 19th century, a new permanent exhibition that is especially worth the while for families. There are also two temporary exhibitions: Ruud van Empel – Arcadia and Opnieuw (Once Again), the VSO expo, an annual project on which is collaborated with schools for special education. From 10 June on, the large permanent exhibition De Nassaus van Breda – kasteel, stad en land (The Nassaus of Breda – castle, city and country) will open as well, which is a permanent exhibition that has an interactive Family Trail where the youngest visitors can pull up their sleeves and get to work.
The renovated museum always has something fun to do for children accompanied by parents, carers or grandparents. Ask about the Family Trail, go exploring, and learn from carrying out various tasks.
Don’t forget to visit the shop with its special books and original products, whether for yourself or as a gift. The menu in the cafe has something to offer for everyone.
