Smile, warmth and friendship
Tickets for one of the open tours at 1.30pm on Saturday or Sunday can be booked at schrobbeler.nl. Groups of fifteen people or more can also book on other days and times. And it’ll be well worth it, as confirmed by one guest: “We had a very enjoyable but also successful afternoon. The staff are friendly and were keen to tell us about the history of Schrobbelèr. We sampled some of the delicious liqueur as well. Highly recommendable afternoon!” The recipe for Schrobbelèr is a well-kept family secret. What we know for sure is that the liqueur contains 21.5% alcohol and is made with no less than 43 herbs. Developed by Jan Wassing, whose stomach problems meant that strong alcohol didn’t really agree with him, decided to start mixing alcohol himself and adding homeopathic ingredients.

Schrobbelèr is served where friendship is celebrated
The liqueur gets its name from the rich Tilburg textile industry of yesteryear. The schrobbelaar was the person who untangled the wool fibres before they could be spun. A tradition has developed since the introduction of the liqueur, because Schrobbelèr is served where friendship is celebrated!
Just ten kilometres from the centre of Tilburg, come and discover why one enthusiastic visitor summarised it as: “Hospitable, warm, tasty, enjoyable, special, musical, etc…. nice welcome, interesting tour and well organised. Superb!!!
