The hostel has a pleasant inner garden, a golf-in-the-woods course, playing field, terrace and barbecue. The brand new reception building contains a well-designed bar, a pleasant sitting area and a lovely terrace which is also used by many day trippers. You can combine the casual, open ambiance of the hostel with many opportunities close by. During the day you can you can enjoy some action in the treetops at the spectacular Klimbos (Climbing Wood) or on one of the cycling, walking or mountain bike routes in the area, after which you can participate in a delicious BBQ. After that, it’s into town, where more than 800 listed buildings form part of the lively town centre with its quaint old lanes and numerous cafes.

Brabant’s Nature Gateway
As Brabant’s Nature Gateway the hostel is the main starting point for experiencing  the countryside around Bergen op Zoom, and for enjoying the calm, space, greenery and all the facilities on hand. The Brabantse Wal is an area where natural beauty, monuments and cultural events are interwoven, and offers a varying landscape of polders, woods, hills and water. Such as the Markiezaatsmeer lake, one of the largest wetlands in the Netherlands, or the fun and challenging Blotenvoetenpad (Bare Feet Path) where you’ll get mud between your toes which you can wipe away later on the soft heathland moss. Above that there is a Nature Stage, a platform where expertise, pictures, ideas and opinions about the Brabantse Wal are shared. You can hear, see and feel what makes the Brabantse Wal so unusual.

Bergen op Zoom’s living room
The bar is the place where the locals meet (cyclists, walkers but also businesses) in addition to a very diverse group of guests. Many international guests stay at the hostel in addition to individual travellers and families. It’s predominantly British, German, Belgian, French and Spanish guests who make their way to Stayokay. Their experiences are probably best summed up by the following reaction: “You’re more than Stayokay, you’re Stay-Fabulous!”.
