You can learn all about the rich history of this historic property during a guided tour. The similarities between Bovendonk and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam are apparent; not surprisingly as both buildings were designed by the same architect: Pierre Cuypers.
Activities
The hotel welcomes cyclists and walkers. The Fietsvierdaagse Hoeven, one of the largest four day cycling events in the Netherlands starts and finishes at Bovendonk. Those two recharging points for electric bikes therefore come in very handy. Musical performances, various activities and events of interest are organised in the courtyard. If you want to enjoy the culinary flavours in Hoeven or the surroundings, Bovendonk is the perfect base. The Basilica of Saints Agatha and Barbara in Oudenboschligt is just four kilometres away. You can take the Parelpad (Pearl Path) and wander past this smaller version of St Peter’s Basilica in Rome and other religious artefacts in Oudenbosch. And when you get back you can enjoy a healthy lunch, an intimate dinner or a pleasant drink in the Brasserie.
