De Maashorst
The Maashorst is a unique nature reserve located east of 's-Hertogenbosch and close to Eindhoven. An area where nature still has the upper hand. Here you can spot European Bison, Tauros cattle and Exmoor ponies; primeval inhabitants that roam the landscape. Whether you choose to discover the area on foot or by bike, you are assured of a beautiful journey through a special area. Adventure beckons! No child will be bored here...
Experience the primeval landscape and spot wild grazers
Natuurcentrum De Maashorst is the ideal starting point for your adventure through this primeval area in North Brabant. Get to know the wild grazing animals, wijst grounds and sand drifts during your route. Did you know that De Maashorst is the largest contiguous natural area in Brabant? There is plenty of hiking and biking fun for all ages! For little adventurers there are special children's routes that are shorter but no less exciting. Meet Docus the badger or head on out with Osje the bull. On the way there is plenty to see, experience and learn. Children can have fun with the world around them at one of the many natural playgrounds. Or climb lookout tower Herperduin, for the most beautiful view over the nature reserve.

A great time with the whole family
Castles are things of fairy tales. But in Brabant there are castles you can visit! Like Castle Heeswijk in Heeswijk-Dinther, beautifully situated in the woods. Find the secret stairs and corridors in the castle, climb the tower, try on a knight's helmet, or listen to the castle’s intriguing stories.
Or visit BillyBird Park Hemelrijk. The heart of this park consists of a beautiful pool plus beach, ideal for both swimming enthusiasts and sun worshippers. There is a survival area next to the beach pool where daredevils can indulge themselves. In the large indoor playground Zeeroversland (pirate land) children can have fun for hours on the family slide, in the new play area "the Pirate Cage", on the rope ladders, and in the bumper cars.
A LONGER STAY IN BEAUTIFUL BRABANT
Will you be staying another day? There is plenty more to do in the vicinity of De Maashorst. The four municipalities of Oss, Bernheze, Landerd and Uden are just a stone’s throw away. They all have their own specialties, history and culture. We promise you won’t get bored!
Can't get enough of Brabant? Make it a long weekend or even a holiday! The modern design city of Eindhoven and the historic 's-Hertogenbosch are only half an hour's drive from De Maashorst. Discover these great places for yourself!
