Bond's love of both 70s American West Coast music and American literature makes this concert a unique experience. His obsession with literature creates a striking and special cocktail of influences, which can be heard in his music. Musically, you can hear inspirations like Randy Newman, James Taylor and Sufjan Stevens. Lyrically, you notice that Bond writes like Hemingway did: his music takes you to crunching mountain trails, a dark Madrid pub smelling of sherry and olive oil, or deep green pine forests. The feeling of melancholy is made palpable not by description but by experience.

P.J.M. Bond earned his spurs with his band Dnadelion, with which he released two albums: "Everest" (2016) and "Laika, Belka, Strelka" (2019). In addition, Bond has been playing for years as a session musician with VanWyck, Judy Blank, Yorick van Norden, Her Majesty, and AlascA, among others. In 2021, Bond debuted a solo EP titled "Sunset Blues". His debut album, "In Our Time", inspired by Ernest Hemingway's collection of short stories of the same name, published in 1925, followed in late 2023. Bond brings a fresh and unique wind to the songwriter circuit, where confessional songwiritng reigns supreme.

Support act: Bas Beenackers

You might know Bas Beenackers as the frontman of the Utrecht indie rock band My Blue Van, but he also has a solo career. In 2022, he released his first EP titled "Man," featuring five subdued yet emotionally powerful acoustic songs. Beenackers says, "I write emotional music about life's big topics: love, death, offspring." In September 2023, he released his debut album, which includes the tracks from "Man" along with five new, more richly arranged pieces. His inspirations range from Miles Davis' album "Sketches Of Spain" to the polder near Oud-Zuilen!
