When Prince Siegfried goes hunting, he encounters a flock of swans. A swan transforms into the beautiful human Odette and he is immediately entranced by her. But Odette is under a spell that causes her to take the form of a swan during the day. Can Siegfried free her? Tchaikovsky's sensational score, together with the evocative imagination of choreographer Liam Scarlett and designer John Macfarlane, heightens the dramatic pathos of Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov in this par excellence ballet piece. Swan Lake is one of the most beloved works of classical ballet to date.
