The Amsterdam-based singer and songwriter Fridolijn has a unique style she likes to describe as dreamy folktronica. In her music, echoes of Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, Fiona Apple, and Zero 7 resonate. Her songs gradually unfold like a daydream, with her crystal-clear voice wrapped in swirling synthesizers, soft layers of dreamy folk, ambient electronica, and expansive drums. Although her name may be new to some, Fridolijn has already built an impressive track record. With her band Finn Silver, she achieved top 10 rankings in the Netherlands and Japan. She performed on international stages and festivals such as Billboard Live in Tokyo, the North Sea Jazz Festival, The Tabernacle London, and Concertgebouw Amsterdam. She toured internationally with jazz scene giants like the British Kairos 4tet, pianist Gideon van Gelder (Jose James), Cinematic Orchestra guitarist Stuart McCallum, and drummer Richard Spaven (Flying Lotus/Jamie Woon). After her solo debut on V2 Records, Fridolijn released CHAPTERS in 2020. Two new chapters, each with three songs. For this, she entered a new collaboration with Londoner Troy Miller (drummer for Amy Winehouse and producer for Laura Mvula/Gregory Porter/Jamie Cullum). She took the time to deepen her own sound, develop her voice, and tell her story uncompromisingly. "Chapters" is the confident result of this.
