The Jan Cunen Museum dedicates an exhibition to this illustrious ruler who was responsible for bringing wine, chicken and grapes to this part of Europe, and who took part in a battle at Oss in 555 BC.
In 55 B.C. Julius Caesar fought a battle in Oss, and many skeletal remains, swords, spearheads and a helmet have been found in the ground near Kessel. Museum Jan Cunen has therefore mounted an exhibition about this infamous leader. One of the themes is Food. This is not surprising when you realise that this famous Roman brought wine, chicken, walnuts and grapes to this part of Europe.
